Konjo Agent Terms
Effective September 30, 2026 · Version konjo-agent-2026-09-30
These terms apply to Konjo Agent, an optional paid add-on for Konjo Studio. They supplement the Konjo Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The dojo owner who accepts them accepts them on behalf of the dojo. They do not change the Konjo Assistant Terms, which continue to govern Konjo Assistant.
1. Scope
Konjo Agent is software that performs dojo operations work on the dojo's behalf: answering and routing inquiries, following up with leads, preparing and sending messages, keeping records tidy, creating tasks for staff, and, where the dojo allows it, billing work such as retrying a charge or issuing a small refund. The Agent acts through its own staff account with its own role. It can use only the records and actions that role permits, and it can never hold the permissions to manage staff, payroll, ownership, dojo settings, integrations, or incident reports.
2. Autonomy levels
For each kind of work the dojo chooses how much the Agent may do on its own: Off (never), Suggest (proposes an idea), Draft (prepares the work for a person to approve), Act and tell (does the work, reports it in the activity feed, and offers an undo window where the action can be undone), or Act quietly (does the work and reports it in the digest and ledger). Guardrails apply at every level: quiet hours, a weekly contact budget per household, money caps per action, per day and per family, a cap on how many people one action may reach, a kill switch that pauses every autonomous action, and a shadow period after activation during which outbound messages are drafted for approval. Some actions are never available to the Agent, and some always require a person to approve them.
3. Simulation before live
A new Agent runs in simulation: it records what it would have done without sending, charging, or changing anything outside Konjo. Only Konjo can switch a dojo to live operation, and only after these terms are accepted and the dojo asks for it.
4. Liability for autonomous actions
The Agent acts on the dojo's instructions, settings and policies. Actions the Agent takes within the autonomy levels, caps and policies the dojo has set are actions of the dojo, as if a staff member had taken them. AI output can be incomplete or wrong, and the Agent can misread a situation. Konjo provides the Agent as is, within the limits of the Konjo Terms of Service, and is not responsible for losses that result from actions the dojo authorized through its settings, approved as drafts, or failed to undo within the undo window. Konjo remains responsible for the Agent staying within the settings, caps and hard lines described here, and will correct records and reverse charges that result from the Agent exceeding them.
5. Owner responsibility for policies
The dojo owner is responsible for the autonomy levels, caps, sign-off and plain-English policies the dojo sets, for reviewing drafts before approving them, for keeping member contact preferences and consents accurate, and for making sure the Agent's work complies with laws that apply to the dojo, including consumer protection, marketing, and payment rules. Policies are translated into checks as written; if a policy cannot be translated, the Agent says so and does not guess.
6. Data handling
The Agent reads the dojo records its role permits in order to do its work. Konjo sends the minimum needed to an AI provider through Vercel AI Gateway, requesting zero data retention first, and records which provider and route handled each run. Payroll data and health information stay out of the Agent's context except the specific fields a task needs, such as an allergy note for a trial class. Messages from members, leads and the public are treated as information, never as instructions to the Agent. Every run, action, approval and undo is recorded in the Agent's activity and ledger and is visible to the dojo's owners.
7. Minors
The Agent never initiates contact with a minor. Messages about a minor go to the minor's guardian through the household's contact addresses. Anything that looks like a safeguarding concern is escalated to a person immediately and the Agent stops working on it.
8. Consent
The Agent sends text messages only to numbers with consent, honors STOP and every existing suppression, and includes an unsubscribe option and the required footer on marketing email. It respects quiet hours and the household contact budget.
9. Disclosure
Messages the Agent sends carry a sign-off that says they come from the dojo via Konjo. The dojo may choose the wording, but the Agent never presents itself as a named person, and it answers honestly when asked whether it is automated.
10. Changes and ending
Konjo may update these terms by publishing a new version; the Agent keeps running in simulation until the new version is accepted. The dojo may pause the Agent at any time with the kill switch, and ending the add-on stops all Agent activity. Records of what the Agent did are kept with the dojo's business records.
